César Barroso
Born in the city of Mérida, Yucatán on July 21, 1996. He has a degree in Gastronomy from the Universidad Vizcaya de Las Américas, Merida Campus, with a professional career of just over 12 years in different areas of the industry.
Since he was a child, he was born with a taste and curiosity for food preparation, because at home he was not allowed to interact much with kitchen utensils due to his young age.
This situation increased his desire to cook and to discover different flavors and experiences.
Grilling meat was not such a daily event at home, so every time the grill was on, he enjoyed it very much and grew an interest in outdoor cooking.
His approach with the SMP occurred at the time of opening the Merida Chapter in 2018 and being invited to attend a “Couples Night” workshop as a participant.
The energy, dynamics and experience of the evening seemed surprising and extremely different, so he subsequently joined the staff to help in the workshops that were taught week after week.
After two years of his incorporation to the workshop team, he becomes Leader of the Merida Chapter and begins to collaborate fully in administrative, culinary and logistical aspects for the Chapter.
He was officially named Grill Pro on March 9, 2022 at the Parque SMP in Santiago, Nuevo León. “Fire unites us means for me how important and beautiful the kitchen is, the moment of sharing and living together. Generating bonds and enjoying around the fire, creating a memorable experience.”
